I had abit of a scare this week as my laptop broke down. I wont say who's fault it is but lets just say that I now realise that poking at the insides of machines with a screwdriver and spraying it with liquid does not bode well for the machine and any documents you may have on it. My laptop is essential to my studies within the University of Bedfordshire. It has the plans and research for my dissertation, my coursework and my notes (however little those notes may be.
As such; I cannot afford to lose it. So far, you can treat this as a cautionary tale. BACK UP YOUR WORK! A handy way to do this is to open up your e-mail and compose a new e-mail. Then attach your work to the e-mail and save it to drafts (or send it to a 2nd e-mail address if you have one). I believe this is a much better way of keeping copies of your work than things such as memory sticks/flash drives. It's saved in the cloud so you cant misplace it and you can access it on any PC (Or Mac if you're in to those horrible contraptions).
In the end, I managed to fix it so all is well. As it's the holiday season, I chose to do my coursework on the weekends only; leaving the rest as chilling time. For everyone reading this who hasn't experienced it yet, 3rd year isnt as hard as everyone is working it up to be. So relax and enjoy yourselves.
There were 3 courseworks set for the Christmas holidays; working at 1000 words a day (for each day of the weekend) I completed the one that's most due within 2 days. Just keep working like that and the other 2 courseworks will be finished in due time too
